Tetsuya #2

Tetsuya #2 (テツヤ二号 Tetsuya Nigō) is Tetsuya Kuroko‘s pet dog. He is taken care of by Kuroko and theSeirin team, and has become somewhat of the club’s mascot.^[1] Kuroko also calls him #2.

Appearance

Tetsuya #2 is a puppy, an Alaskan Malamute. The top of his coat is black, while his tummy and legs are snow-white. He has two white spots for eyebrows. His most distinctive feature is that his eyes greatly resembleKuroko‘s, they are of the same color and are oval-shaped as well.^[2] This is the reason why he is called Tetsuya #2.

Tetsuya #2 also sports a Seirin No. 16 jersey.

Personality

Obviously, Tetsuya #2 acts like a typical dog. He pees everywhere and barks a lot. He also seems to be a very intelligent dog, able to read the mood of the Seirin team and bark when appropriate^[3] (i.e. when they score a basket). He becomes attached to Kuroko instantly and constantly hangs around him. It is unknown whether or not it was intentional, but he also pooped on Kagami’s sneakers. Later Kagami notices there’s a gash on his sneakers and if he kept practicing with it, he would have gotten hurt. This leads him to accept Tetsuya #2 as a result.

Riko Aida

Riko Aida (相田 リコ Aida Riko) is Seirin‘s boys’ basketball club’s coach. She has the ability to Scan someone and bring out every detail about that person. She is also Kagetora Aida‘s daughter.

Appearance

She has caramel coloured hair, that is not very long at first, but she decided to let it grow during the Winter Cup. Two years ago, it was long as well, but she cut it for unknown reasons. Her hair is kept to her left side with two pins and sometimes she has a pony tail kept together with a black band. Before the Winter Cup finals, Riko askedHyūga to cut her hair again, reverting to her former short hairstyle.^[1] According to Momoi, she has a B-cup.

She is always seen in her school outfit, that is a white shirt with a black sweater over it. She also wears a white, short skirt and a sailor necktie. Because of her being the coach of the basketball team, she has a pink whistle tied around her neck with a hanger. She sometimes wears casual clothes with a bear and the word Kuma (bear) on it.

Personality

Riko cares much for her team, but doesn’t hesitate to submit them to killer-training. To motivate them, she often threatens to double, triple or even quadruple their training menus.^[2][3] All in all, she is very determined for her team to win. As her job as the coach, she actually enjoys raising them up and bringing out the best in them.

She also sometimes tries to reward the team when they win, by giving them a kiss.^[4] She tries to be cute, but the team doesn’t buy it and it backfires. She likes cute things, as seen that she has mutliple pictures of puppies on her phone and is a big fan of Tetsuya #2. She can also get jealous easily, as she was irritated by Seirin‘s attention towards Momoi and even punished them for looking at her.^[5]

Hiroshi Fukuda

Hiroshi Fukuda (福田 寛 Fukuda Hiroshi) is a first year center at Seirin High.

Appearance

Fukuda has black, spikey hair with a few strands hanging over his forehead. He has rather long eyebrows. He plays with the red, black and white jersey of Seirin, wearing the jersey number 13.

Kōichi Kawahara

Kōichi Kawahara (河原 浩一 Kawahara Kōichi) is a first year small forward at Seirin High.

Appearance

Kawahara is a school boy of an average height. He has very short, black hair. He wears the red, black and whiteSeirin High jersey with the number 15.

Kōki Furihata

Kōki Furihata (降旗 光樹 Furihata Kōki) is a first year point guard at Seirin High.

Appearance

Furihata is one of the smaller Seirin players and has nearly the same height as Kuroko. He has light brown, half long hair. He plays with the number 12.

Personality

Furihata has a very quiet and nervous personality. He was getting nervous while just standing near theGeneration of Miracles. He got even more nervous to the extent of being not able to move when asked to leave byAkashi.

Satoshi Tsuchida

Satoshi Tsuchida (土田 聡史 Tsuchida Satoshi) is Seirin High‘s second year power forward.

Appearance

Tsuchida is one of the taller and larger Seirin players. He has short, spikey black hair. He has very thick eyebrows and his eyes look like they are closed, narrowed down to thin, horizontal lines. He wears the red, black and whiteSeirin High jersey with the number 9.

When Seirin’s past was revealed, it is shown that he hasn’t changed at all from last year.

Personality

Not much is known about Tsuchida, but he does like to play basketball very much. He is rarely in the center of attention, because he is quite shy. He also likes cats, but when he approaches one, it always bites his hand.^[1]

Shinji Koganei

Shinji Koganei (小金井 慎二 Koganei Shinji) is one ofSeirin‘s forwards. It is said that he can do anything, yet isn’t a master of anything.

Appearance

Koganei has normal, spiky, dark brown hair and short bangs. His most distinctive feature is his mouth that’s curved like a cats. He’s one of the shortest members of the Seirin team.

Personality

Koganei is called Koga by most second year members of Seirin. He is very friendly and very talkative, often speaking louder than necessary. He is also scared very quickly and looks up to playing against a strong opponent. Even in the match, he is pessimistic. WhenRiko drives up the training, he is usually the first to complain. Despite all this, he gets serious during matches. In the match against Seihō High, he fought for his pride.^[1]

He is friends with everybody on the team and calls them nicknames, like Tsucchi for Tsuchida and Itsuki for Izuki. Mitobe seems to be his closest friend, as they’ve known each other since middle school, and Koganei can understand him perfectly.

Rinnosuke Mitobe

Rinnosuke Mitobe (水戸部 凛之助 Mitobe Rinnosuke) isSeirin‘s center and a second year regular.

Appearance

Mitobe has long black hair that is parted to the sides, but with one strand of hair between his eyes. He also has very thick eyebrows. One of his distinctive features is that he always has his mouth closed, even when playing, and never speaks. He wears the Seirin jersey with the number 8. He is also one of the taller members of the club.

Personality

Mitobe is just as determined to win as the other players at Seirin, but unlike the others, he doesn’t show his feelings that often. Most people know him as a quiet, hard worker. According to Riko, no one has ever heard Mitobe talk.

Mitobe has a large family and is in charge of making breakfast every morning, thus he is skilled in household chores and cooking. He is naturally caring and often worries about the well-being of his teammates, especially the underclassmen and Koga, whom he has known the longest. Somehow, despite the fact that he is mute, most people understand what he is thinking and can even hold a conversation with him, especially Koganei, who seems to understand Mitobe perfectly. He also seems to be somewhat of a pushover, since both Koga and Hyūga can boss him around easily.

Teppei Kiyoshi

Teppei Kiyoshi (木吉 鉄平 Kiyoshi Teppei) is Seirin‘s founder and its previous ace. He is known as Iron Heart(鉄心 Tesshin) and is one of the Uncrowned Kings.

Appearance

Teppei is very tall, even taller than Taiga Kagami. He has half-long, brown hair. His eyebrows are thick. He has dark eyes. His hands are also very big. This allows him to grab the ball tightly and change its course even at the last moment. He wears the jersey number 7.

Personality

Teppei is mature and kind to people, very smart and is almost always plotting something. In game, he takes it easy at first, but when his game-instinct kicks in, he is ruthless and very professional. His catchphrase during games is “Let’s go have fu~n!”.^[1] According to Hyūga, he is a very honest player.

In comparing Makoto Hanamiya and Teppei it was described like this: “If Teppei is the most honest then Hanamiya is the complete opposite. “-Hyuga

Kiyoshi is also very caring for his team. Because he founded the club, he has great affection towards his teammates and friends. He is willing to support them whenever they are in trouble and will protect them if they are threatened in any way^[2], even at the cost of himself.

Shun Izuki

Shun Izuki (伊月 俊 Izuki Shun) is a second year atSeirin and the regular point guard. He has the Eagle Eye.

Appearance

Shun has straight black hair, that reaches his eyes. His eyes are narrow and resemble an eagle, hinting to his ability. His eyes are also usually shown without pupils, entirely black. He has a rather small and athletic looking body, in contrast to his teammates. He plays with the jersey number 5.

His appearance hasn’t changed much from last year, but in his first year in high school, his hair was shorter and parted on the right side.

Personality

On the outside, he has a cool attitude, but on the inside, he has an unfortunate hobby for puns (word-jokes). Izuki is most known for his puns, although some are not as good as others. The other players of the team usually get annoyed whenever Izuki makes another pun. Apart from his puns, he is also very smart. He plays his matches cool-headed and is an excellent strategist.
